Science/Math Web Site A new free Web site offers K-12 students a chance to test their skills against their international peers - and have fun in the process. Students can compare their performance based on the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) in 1995-99. Access hints, tutorials, and links to the best Web sites for increased understanding and improved performance in math and science.

Homework Help Students never need get stuck on math homework again. Not there's an online Web site for high school (and college) students to work through actual homework problems assigned by their teachers. Students will find guided solutions to problems in standard algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus textbooks online. Hotmath provides step-by-step solutions to homework problems. Hotmath also provides links to recommended mate sites. Just select the textbook and enter the page number and problem number to view guided solutions. This site is now free to use.

Conflict Coverage For nearly two years now, the Middle East has been wracked by violence between Israelis and Palestinians. As renewed  bouts of violence continue to pop up, the reporters and producers at National Public Radio have followed the conflict. Their Middle East website has complied an archive of daily reports, audio links, and transcripts from their "All Things Considered" and "Morning Edition" programs, starting with shows from the beginning of May.
