State Board of Education Approved Criteria:  Diploma with Honors

Each school district shall award the Diploma with Honors to any student graduating after September 15, 1993 who:

  • successfully completes the high school curriculum or individualized education program developed or the students by the high school

  • demonstrates at least a ninth-grade level of literacy and basic competency on all ninth-grade proficiency tests and

  • Meets the criteria for honors provided below.

Leipsic High School Diploma Requirements for
The Graduating Class of 2003

Regular Diploma
Pass WRMCS of the 9th Proficiency test
4 units of English
3 units of Math
2 units of Science (1 Phys. & 1 Biol.)
3 units of Social Studies
.5 unit of health
.5 unit of Physical Education
.5 unit of Speech
.5 Keyboarding
7 units Electives
One unit or two 1/2 units from
Technology; Art, Band, or Choir;
or Foreign Language

21 Total units

 

 

Career-Technical Diploma
Pass WRMCS of the 9th Proficiency Test
4 units of English
3 units of Math
2 units of Science
3 units of Social Studies
.5 unit of Health
.5 unit of Physical Education
.5 unit of Speech
.5 unit of Keyboarding
7 units of Electives
One unit or two 1/2 units from
Technology; Art, Band, or Choir;
or Foreign Language

 

Honors Diploma
Meet requirements for a regular diploma
PLUS meet nine of the following ten criteria:

a) 4 units of English
b) 3 units of Math (Alg, I, Alg. II, Geom)
c) 3 units of Science (Biol. , Chem)
d) 3 units of Social Studies
e) 3 units of one Foreign Language or 2
        units of each of two Foreign Languages
f) 1 unit of Fine Arts (Band, Chorus, Art)
g) 1 unit of Business or Technology
h) 2 additional units of a.) - g.) 
i) 3.5 GPA up to last grading period of the 
    senior year
j) Obtain a 27 ACT composite
      or Comparable 1210 SAT score

 

Career-Technical Honors Diploma

Meet requirements for a regular diploma
PLUS meet nine of the following ten 
criteria:
a) 4 units of English
b) 3 units of Math 
c) 3 units of Science
d) 3 units of Social Studies
e) 2 units of one Foreign Language or 2 
     units of Business/Technology
f) 3 additional units in the career-technical
   curriculum
g) 2 additional units in a)-f) or Fine Arts
h) 3.5 GPA up to the last grading period
    of the senior year
i) Career Passport with Proficient in the 
    95% of core competencies
                     or
j)  obtain a 27 ACT Composite or
  Equivalent SAT score
